Eva is a big sister!

Quick to update Facebook...not so quick to update Xanga.  We welcomed Olivia on Tuesday morning, 7/7.  Labor was QUICK.  Eva had a few hard days of adjustment, but is doing better.

Lay-offs

Well, Kyle was reduced to 45% with no benefits.  Puts us in an awkward position.  Not sure what the future holds for us.  Anybody know of any jobs?

Oops...it's March

So I had planned on trying to keep our blog updated, but I apparently haven't been very successful!  I wish I had something interesting to say since it has been so long, but I don't.  Oh well!

Eva is doing well.  (Despite the fact that she currently has Scarlet Fever.)  It's hard to believe that she's 18 months...although she looks like she is barely a year.  She's FINALLY made it to 19 lbs, but still has that tiny look.  We're hoping that she actually gets to turn around in her carseat before she's 2.  We'll see...  She's also seeing a speech/occupational therapist who is working with her to try and get her to eat more and strengthen her mouth.  I think it's working.  She still has her nuts, dairy and egg allergies (and carries an epipen jr.), but she has outgrown the soy and wheat ones, so we have LOTS more to choose from these days.

Baby is growing and nice and active.  She likes to jump on the bladder in the middle of the school day.  Fun.  Doc reset her due date to July, but Eva measured small, too, so we'll see when she actually appears.  I'm just glad that Eva's allergies are finally allowing me to eat a little more!

We're really excited about Baby, but I can't help but feel a little sad for Eva.  She has no idea how her life is going to change.  And she just seems so young still.  Lots of people have kids less than 2 years apart, though, so I'm sure it will be fine.  Just an adjustment.  Did any of you tandem nurse?

On a final note, our church is doing lay-offs.  Kyle finds out Tuesday if he is still going to have a job.  It's a little daunting, the idea of him losing a job right before we have a second child...and in this economy.  Oh well, at least I'm employed, right?  So be it if we have to move in with our parents.  Ha.

Okay, that's it!  I try to read everybody else's xangas even if I don't update ours!

Potty Training

Happy New Year!  I'm not sure if anybody reads this anymore, but maybe 2009 will bring a return to blogging for us.  Who knows.

Anyway, my motivation for this post is potty training advice.  Has anybody potty trained early?  Or tried?  Was it successful?

Eva is 15 months old, but frequently tells us (well, signs) when she needs "to go" and heads to the bathroom.  I've also put her on the toilet, and told her to go...and she has.

We don't even have a potty chair for her, and I certainly don't want to push her to do something that she isn't ready to do.  And well, frankly, diapers just seem like a lot less work.

Sooo...thoughts?  Advice?  Thanks!
